Evil bosses and their beleaguered assistants are a dime a dozen these days, so it`s a refreshing change to have a wacky boss whose heart is in the right place. Jill White (a barely disguised version of Jane magazine editor Jane Pratt, whom the author worked under for nearly a decade) is a trailblazing feminist with a love of popular culture whose values come in conflict with the corporate powers that be.
